CAKE was founded on the belief that our team should strive to provide superior customer service in addition to an innovative product. Our goal is to create an exceptional user experience for our customers. After all, it is always nice to put a face to a name and meet the people you interact with on a daily basis! In this new series we will be introducing our outstanding team members from across all departments and all regions…with one goal in mind. We want our customers, prospects and industry advocates to get to know the faces behind the product. We hope you enjoy!
Today we introduce you to Marya Stevens, a member of CAKE’s Sales Team based in of the London office. Marya began her CAKE career as Senior Business Development Representative in February 2015 after working as a teaching assistant.
A Sneak Peek Inside Marya’s Role at CAKE:
On a day-to-day basis I am researching and talking to companies who are experiencing problems tracking their digital spend and explaining how CAKE’s technology can solve their current issues. Many companies I talk to are losing revenue from not properly optimising their traffic or struggling to grow their business in the way they would like. More often than not they are using incomplete performance marketing software, and therefore are looking for new solutions. Once I’ve found potential prospects, I speak to them and see if, and how CAKE can help. I offer a consultation and together we determine if CAKE is the best solution.
Marya’s Favourite Part About Working at CAKE:
Bottom line I love working at CAKE because of the people and my role. As a Senior Business Development Representative, I am exposed to people from all corners of the world. On average I speak to about 10 different people from 10 different countries across the world on a weekly basis, which keeps my job extremely interesting!
At CAKE everyone believes in what they are doing, they truly believe in the product and believe it can help others. I am lucky enough to come to work everyday with a sense of purpose and have confidence in what I am selling. This is what makes CAKE’s Sales Team so strong because we know the technology is great and when potential clients are exposed to it too – they can see that. Here at CAKE, we defy the traditional salesman stereotype, as we know we are selling a product that does exactly what we tell others it does.
Marya’s Hot Tip For Prospects:
At CAKE, we are not just salespeople; we also act as consultants within the affiliate marketing industry. Between all of us, we have a lot of experience and knowledge with a shared goal to help others improve their business; we do not just want to sell CAKE. Prospects should know the honesty and helpfulness of our teams, if they need information about CAKE, or other technology, then they will be guided by all of our knowledgeable employees into making the right choice.
Her Favourite Activities Outside of CAKE:
I love to read! There is nothing more I love than exploring new worlds via the written word and spending my Sunday mornings with my nose buried in-between all the novels I am currently reading. At the moment, one of the many stories I am entangled in is The Establishment: And How They Get Away With It. I also love to write poetry and take inspiration from Wallace Stevens; my favourite poem is The Idea of Order at Key West. I adore spending time with my various nieces and nephews; I have also just become a peer-mentor for children from violent homes, as helping others is a fundamental value of mine.
Just For Fun, We Asked Marya: “If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?”
I would be a sloth. A sloths life is something I aspire to – slouching about on a tree, doing nothing and just generally chilling out, I love them!
An Interesting Fact about Marya:
I am named after my many Aunts and good family friends and therefore have six middle names. My middle names are: Janie, Patricia, Shirley, Ingrid, Tina and Susan. However, I cannot quite remember the exact order!
